The Red Balloon

The Red Balloon, originally from 1967, starts with a boy blowing a balloon. It takes off and turns into an apple, a flower, a butterfly, a flower and an umbrella. Draw only in red and black it will excite children and grown ups (and designers!). Hardback book without words.

Animated Aphabet

Alphabet 2 is a top-notch animated alphabet from Italian creative firm n9ve directed by Alessandro Novelli. I love everything about this.

Rail Car Converted into Mobile Garden

This car circled Chicago’s elevated downtown loop for five hours with several additional cars decorated with numerous other art installations.

Pin and Thread Illustrations by Debbie Smyth

Debbie Smyth is textile artist most identifiable by her statement thread drawings; these playful yet sophisticated contemporary artworks are created by stretching a network of threads between accurately plotted pins. Her work beautifully blurs the boundaries between fine art drawings and textile art, flat and 3D work, illustration and embroidery, literally lifting the drawn line off the page in a series of “pin and thread” drawings.

Amnesty International Bank Notes

A poster was produced with all bank notes from some Latin American countries like Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay and Peru, between others. Each piece was realized over a Bank note of each country, which was illustrated by one representative artist, the profits were handed to Amnesty International.
Banknotes have been chosen as they are an embodiment of the dominant narrative of each nation and what is considered most important. Using bank notes as inspiration presents a platform for independent voice in approaching issues such as economic problems, exclusion and nationalism.{via}
