a lamp with a single bulb

Paris designer Guillaume Delvigne has created a lamp with a single bulb dangling on the end of a flex, which is draped over a stand. Called O10, shape of the stand allows it to be balanced on the edge of a piece of furniture.

The Sofa Ruché

This sofa contains a secret. I need softness to satisfy my need for order and aesthetic expression. The stark wood base of this sofa is pure minimalism. But the upholstered, quilted blanket wrapping the minimal frame is traditional and deliberately loose fitting.

Tailored Stool

A technique similar to that used in the clothing industry is applied to furniture. A pattern is generated and when assembled, the resulting void is filled with foam. Just as a suit is altered to fit the client, the furniture is custom made and adapted to fit the user be they tall, short, skinny or fat.
The process is unconventional in terms of industrialized furniture, in that it proposes a construction technique without a mould. The pattern itself becomes both the defining surface and the mold. In a sense it is a reversal of upholstery in which normally a skin is applied over the stuffing.

Zen Humidifier

The first is that it uses no electricity: Instead, water is drawn up through the wood and evaporated into the air. According to the designers — the Japanese firm Okada — this process evaporates water six times faster than if you left in in a glass. At that pace, it’d be quite effective.
